ATI delivers health aid to port community on Bonifacio Day

December 02, 2019

Instead of spending the November 30 holiday elsewhere, volunteer health workers and employees of listed Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) took the opportunity to go out on field to help improve the health and well-being of its neighboring port community.

Coinciding with the celebration of Bonifacio Day, a regular holiday in honor of renowned hero Andres Bonifacio, and in line with the company's dynamic corporate sustainability program, ATI conducted a free medical and dental mission in Barangay 649 in Baseco, Manila, its adopted port community.

ATI reached nearly 400 underprivileged port community dwellers mostly women, children and elderly, providing them free health consultation, basic medicines, vitamins as well as healthy foods packs.

The medical outreach was made possible through the help of its resident medical professionals, partner doctors and volunteer employees and in coordination with local barangay officials.

As a leading trade enabler, ATI brings its dynamic corporate sustainability initiatives beyond its port gates to create a healthier and sustainable port environment for the benefit of its port stakeholders.

These initiates are in support of the UN Global Sustainable Goals which also serve as the sustainability framework of ATI’s foreign equity partner DP World.

As a port organization, health and safety is among ATI’s topmost priorities.
