ATI’s virtual run logs 1,000-km for women empowerment

December 17, 2021

Sustaining its advocacy for greater diversity and inclusivity in the port industry, listed trade enabler Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) continuously promoted women empowerment alongside its core values, namely: Safety, Health, and Environment(SHE) even in the middle of the pandemic through its port community Virtual Fun Run (ATI@35VFR) 2021.

Before the year ended, ATI dockworkers and employees of partner shipping lines, import/export clients, brokerage firms, freight conduits and port authorities strapped on their sports gears and covered over 1,000 kilometers in cumulative distance, dedicating each sweat and stride in support of the shared causes.

Given the pandemic restrictions, ATI’s annual run this year was held virtually with participants jogging, walking, running, hiking, or doing other mobility exercises at their own time, pace, and place, whether indoor or outdoor, while following government prescribed health standards.

For over a decade, ATI has been hosting port community runs to drive greater awareness for diversity, inclusivity, and SHE in a traditionally male-dominated port industry with the support of the Philippine supply-chain community.

The ATI@35VFR also coincided with the 35th anniversary of ATI as a dynamic port and logistics company which operates major trade gateways for the Philippine economy.

In recent years, ATI has successfully advanced its workforce diversity goals, gainfully employing more women in its port operations, engineering, and other frontline units, while continuously upskilling and advancing female talents up the corporate ladder.

ATI@35VFR participants proudly display their medals and step tracker apps as they meet their health goals while also advancing women empowerment in the port industry.
